About
Dr Rebecca Ades
Hello, my name is Rebecca, and I’m a Clinical Psychologist with nearly 10 years of experience supporting adults with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. My work often focuses on challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, perinatal loss, and perfectionism.
I have a particular interest in working with people who feel driven to achieve, do well, or keep things together, even when life feels overwhelming underneath. While this drive can be a strength, it can also come with high levels of self-criticism, shame, self-blame, and difficulty slowing down or asking for help. For many, these patterns have roots in early experiences of how we are brought up and traumas we may have faced in our lives. Over time, this can contribute to exhaustion, anxiety, depression, a sense of disconnection from one’s own needs or identity.
In our work together, we take time to map out your difficulties and make sense of how they have developed, before developing goals that feel meaningful to you. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and ideas from Systemic Therapy. Above all, I aim to offer a space where you can pause, reflect, and begin to relate to yourself with greater understanding and care.
